Primera’s Signature Slide and Cassette Printers are designed for use in pathology, cytology and histology labs. With integrated PTLab™ SE software the printers can significantly increase the labs’ efficiency while helping to reduce the risk of specimen misidentification.

In the past, much of this labeling has been accomplished by handwriting information with a pencil or marking pen. However, handwriting tends to be difficult to read, can be inaccurate and might even rub off during processing. Labs can now print text, graphics and logos, along with linear and 2D bar codes, even in colour, directly onto slides and tissue cassettes, eliminating handwriting or expensive and difficult-to-apply labels and making workflow more efficient while increasing patient safety.

Even with their high-resolution, full-colour printing capabilities, Primera’s Signature Printing Solutions cost less than all other monochrome-only slide and cassette printers currently available. Small and space-efficient, labs can likely afford – and almost certainly cost-justify – an on-demand manual cassette at the grossing stations and a slide printer at each microtome workstation. By placing printers at each station, you’ll reduce or even eliminate mishandling and subsequent error rates. Workflow becomes more efficient, saving time and money by inventorying only white-frosted slides and white cassettes.

The Signature Cassette Printer is available as a stand-alone, manual printer or as a fully automated, complete system. Labs can first purchase a manual printer and upgrade that printer at a later time with robotics to make it a completely automated system.
